NIGHT OUT? THEATRE RELEASE DATES

Interstellar – Nov 7th
Perhaps you have been waiting for this new Nolan sci-fi since the first teaser was released. Maybe you’re a fan of mind-blowing visual effects. Maybe you just like Matthew McConaughey (alright, alright, alright). Regardless of the reason, this is not one to be missed.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part One) – Nov 21st
Do you hear that? That’s the sound of plenty of fangirls screaming. Whether you’re Team Peeta or Team Gale or the super hip and understated Seneca Crane’s Beard, you’re probably waiting to get your hands on tickets to this much-anticipated installment to a fantastic franchise. At the very least, you’ll be able to see how they made that lackluster finale into two whole movies.

The Imitation Game – Nov 21st
So, coming up against Katniss Everdeen, this movie may not break the box office. But it does have a secret weapon: Benedict Cumberbatch. The film follows Sherlock Holmes Alan Turing cracking the Enigma code during the second World War. Just thinking about it sort of makes me get anxiety. It’s sure to be tense.

STAYING IN? DVD RELEASE DATES

Jersey Boys – Nov 11th
So, maybe you aren’t a fan of musicals. But this movie musical has actions, mob involvement, and John Lloyd Young showing a vocal range that will have theatre kids crying. Directed by Clint Eastwood, this account of the hit band The Four Seasons is a must-watch.

22 Jump Street – Nov 18th
Say what you want about sequels of remakes, but any movie that can make fun of itself that brilliantly is good in my book. The dynamic duo of Hill and Tatum returns in this hilarious comedic romp. (Even if Ice Cube continues to steal the show in the scenes he’s in.) Is this an Oscar winner? No. But it is a great pick to enjoy on a night you want to laugh? Absolutely.

The Giver – Nov 28th
Okay, so if you’re looking for the most accurate of movie adaptations, maybe this isn’t the film for you. But, hey, it had its moments. A lot of changes made were pretty good. And, sure, a decent chunk probably could have been cut from the movie, but for a one-night, one dollar Redbox rental, it’s not a bad choice.
