Due to the warm temperatures this week and inconsistent air conditioning in classrooms, principal Jeff Legan allowed staff to wear shorts. For the first time in years, juniors were also not invited to the Honors Assembly in the auditorium to avoid overheating that space.

The student walkout occurred at 11:00am on Friday, May 12, which led to students walking from the flag pole to Lander Road. Principal Jeff Legan said, My hope is that our students conduct a peaceful protest in a safe setting.

Fiona Burnham, Staff Writer

Fiona Burnham is a freshman this year at Mayfield High School. This is her first year involved with The Paw Print. While Fiona has always had a passion for writing, she joined The Paw Print this year as an opportunity to get involved with the Mayfield community and have opportunities to write outside of English class. In her free time, Fiona enjoys reading, listening to music, teaching herself to play guitar, and working on traditional and digital art.  While she is indecisive about her plans for the future, Fiona knows she wants to go to college where she can take art based courses and pursue a career in a creative field such as interior design or film and video production.
