Due to the warm temperatures this week and inconsistent air conditioning in classrooms, principal Jeff Legan allowed staff to wear shorts. For the first time in years, juniors were also not invited to the Honors Assembly in the auditorium to avoid overheating that space.

The student walkout occurred at 11:00am on Friday, May 12, which led to students walking from the flag pole to Lander Road. Principal Jeff Legan said, My hope is that our students conduct a peaceful protest in a safe setting.

Emily Pietrantone, a junior at Mayfield, is a staff photographer and columnist for The Paw Print. When she isn't fiddling with her camera or trying to convey her opinions tastefully she is most likely found in the dance studio. She has been a dancer for as long as she could remember. She also enjoys writing, reading and drawing in her spare time. If you can't find her nuzzled into a book or hiding behind a camera you'll probably find her in the aisles of target.
