As the football team prepares for the upcoming season, the focus is not only on winning games but also on building a strong foundation for long-term success. Coaches and players alike have set ambitious goals, showing the importance of hard work, dedication, and a passion for the sport. I interviewed Mr. Mihalik the Head Defensive Coordinator, Mr. Pinto another Defensive Coach and Luciano Traczyk who is a left end on the varsity team about their goals for this season.

As Coach Mihalik prepares for the next football season, the team is searching for both on-field success and personal growth. Mr. Mihalik, the defensive coordinator, has established concrete goals for the season, emphasizing both competitive success and life learning. One of the primary goals for the season is to take the Western Reserve Conference (WRC) championship and earn a home playoff game, something which hasn’t happened in quite some time. Aside from winning and losing, the coaching staff would also aspire to leave real-life lessons learned from the game for the players, such as teamwork, responsibility, and learning from defeat. The players will be coached under a professional development system involving three summer camps and fundraiser brunches, and players need to have the financing support they may need to improve into their optimum potential. Perhaps the greatest aspect of the transformation of this season is execution. The team will focus on stiffening up overall as a whole to become better cohesive and competent on the field. The Head Coach of a Defensive Specialist Team is prioritizing the strengthening of the offense lately. However, his real vision extends far beyond creating strategy. His aspiration is to turn his players into respectable individuals who can become decent dads, husbands, and workers once they become men. Physical and mental health will be a challenge, and senior leadership will be integral to overcoming obstacles. A lesson that is always at the center of the season is giving their all and playing with heart. With leadership from the seniors, commitment to improvement, and a focus on personal development, the team is poised for a successful season both on and off the field.

I also interviewed Mr. Pinto, and he has set his own personal goals for the season as a Defensive  Coach with a clear emphasis on both performance and enjoyment. He is seeking his players to possess every snap they take but enjoy themselves and have fun playing the game. He believes that it all starts over in the offseason, when players must work on being stronger, faster, and bigger. Through commitment to intense training and the acquisition of a winning mentality, he seeks to form a team capable of withstanding pressure and working together to get to their destination. His plan focuses on the importance of preparation, discipline, and love for the sport, all of which contribute to a successful and satisfying season. I additionally interviewed Luciano Traczyk who has set a personal goal for this season to be the best football player he can be while also staying true to his values and striving to be a good person both on and off the field. He understands that success is not just about performance but also about character and leadership. When considering how the team can improve for a successful year, he believes that growth will come from working together, staying disciplined, and maintaining a strong team mentality. By focusing on both individual and collective development, he hopes to contribute to a season defined by hard work, cooperation, and success.
