With tons of homework and loads of stress at school, there’s nothing that students love more than a day off.

The way that people spend their time on days off varies depending on the type of person they are. Junior Sara Peters takes a relaxed approach to her days off. “I start off my mornings by sleeping in later than usual,” she said.

The rest of her day consists of peaceful activities. “I sometimes stay home and watch Netflix,” Peters said. Her favorite shows to watch are Dexter, The 100, and Gossip Girl.

Even with no classes, Peters still has homework due to her taking many AP and honors classes. However, she manages her time wisely. “I usually spend about an hour or two in the morning when I wake up doing my homework so that I have the rest of the day to spend it how I want,” she said.

Peters and many other students are careful not to take days off for granted. Junior Natalie Haikal believes that they give her freedom. “I can do what I want in the day and not be restricted to a schedule,” she said.

Peters agrees with this. She said, “I like being able to do things that I like instead of having to sit in classes for so many hours”.

Not all students can have relaxing days off like Peters and Haikal. Junior Megan Agresta doesn’t have the luxury of sleeping in. “I usually wake up around 9 because I have work. I don’t want to waste my whole day by sleeping,” she said.

While some people decide to stay indoors, Agresta is more adventurous. During this time of the year, she likes to drive around and see beautiful sights. “I like to drive around cities like Chagrin Falls and Chesterland because all the trees look so pretty during this time of the year,” she said.

If the weather isn’t great, she adjusts her plans to do things such as going to the mall with her friends.

Agresta thinks that having days off helps students get caught up. “It’s like a catch up day. It’s also nice to have more time to get work done so I can relax later on,” she said.

With the vast amount of days off so far this year, it is clear that no students are complaining and are excited for more to come.
