“Using the restroom constantly is a burden but it pays off,” said Trevor Cowgil.

Junior Trevor Cowgil doesn’t mess around when it comes to staying hydrated.

At the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, many of Cowgil’s peers noticed him hauling around a gallon jug of water to each class. In early 2017 a new challenge surfaced amongst the students attending MHS, the gallon challenge, where students attempted to reach their goal of consuming a whole gallon of water per day. Cowgil is still going strong, each day managing to guzzle his water over the duration of every class period, leaving not a drop left by the time the 3:00 bell rings.

Cowgil said, “I’d say what motivates me to drink so much water is just the fact that I like being healthy, plus it doesn’t taste like anything so it doesn’t bug me that I drink so much.” He has no plans to discontinue his water intake.
