If you’re looking for a flavorful, fresh, and healthy midday snack or even a meal, Beyond Juicery + Eatery in Highland Heights is the perfect place for you.

The first thing I noticed when I entered the store is the enormous and varying menu which is posted on modern TV screens. At Beyond, there is something for everyone, including smoothies, smoothie bowls, salads, wraps, fresh squeezed juices, lemonades, wellness shots, and even easy on-the-go bags of chips and other snacks. The best thing about Beyond is everything is customizable to the customer’s liking.

I decided to order the Very Berry smoothie ($6.50), which comes in one size, 20 ounces. This smoothie consists of blueberries, strawberries, banana, lime, and coconut water.

When I received my smoothie in a timely manner and took my first sip, I knew I ordered the right smoothie. Although I loved other smoothies I tried in the past from other places, this one might be my favorite. It had just enough sweetness and had a not-too thin or thick texture. I loved the unique taste that the coconut water brought to the smoothie, as I have never tried a smoothie with that ingredient before.

Junior Payton Brown, who works at Beyond, has her favorites and definitely recommends Beyond to others. “My absolute favorite thing in regards to drinks is a smoothie called Mango Tango. With regards to food, my favorite item is the hummus and beet bowl. I would definitely recommend going to Beyond because it is a very clean environment and the food and drinks are honestly really great,” she said.

Junior Grace Lanzara especially loves the Strawberry Almond salad and the Alive smoothie. “You are allowed to modify anything on [the salad] so I can make it exactly as I want. As for the smoothie, it has all of my favorite things in it, and it’s my favorite smoothie to get,” she said.

As I waited for my smoothie, I couldn’t help but notice the clean and modern design of Beyond’s interior. Although I was in a rush and didn’t have time to stay and enjoy the environment, I appreciated the cleanliness and how welcoming it was.

Senior Anabelle Gephart, who tried the Total Energy strawberry banana smoothie when she went, admired the environment of the store. She said, “The store was very nice. It was very modern and comfortable inside.”

Although the prices at Beyond are on the high end, and I wouldn’t go here often only because of the prices, I do feel like they use quality and fresh ingredients that make the costs seem more reasonable.

Compared to other smoothie places which have an average price of $5.50 for a medium-sized smoothie (20 ounces), Beyond’s smoothies of the same size can range anywhere from $6.50 to $8.50, or even more for customizations, such as adding protein powder.

Even with the high prices, I would rate Beyond 4 out of 5 stars because of the freshness, variety, and healthy foods and drinks that they offer.
