Due to the warm temperatures this week and inconsistent air conditioning in classrooms, principal Jeff Legan allowed staff to wear shorts. For the first time in years, juniors were also not invited to the Honors Assembly in the auditorium to avoid overheating that space.

The student walkout occurred at 11:00am on Friday, May 12, which led to students walking from the flag pole to Lander Road. Principal Jeff Legan said, My hope is that our students conduct a peaceful protest in a safe setting.

In Brian Francetics Financial Algebra class, seniors Stevie Ribovich and Camay McCollum won the Stock Market Challenge this week. Francetic said, Mayfield has never had a repeat champion in 11 years of our course. This year it happened twice! Mayfield will miss these two GOATS.
