If you could have looked down on the Mayfield High School students during Thursday’s classes, you probably would have seen something that closely resembles a Jackson Pollock painting.

Thursday’s mish mosh of color was day four of spirit week, Color Wars.  Arguably the most creative of the spirit days, many students experiment with paint, bandanas, and other vibrant accessories. From their shoulders to their toes, many students went and exceeded expectations.

Freshman donned their best crimson clothes. Sophomores rocked sapphire duds. Juniors dressed as day while seniors dressed as night. Teachers went above and beyond with their grass-colored garb. The noise of all the colors put together in a hallway was deafening.

The next day was the always popular Mayfield Spirit Day. In order to get hyped up for that night’s varsity football game vs the rival Brush Archs, students and faculty draped themselves in black and green.

From the weekly parade of the band and cheerleaders around the school, the Wildcats were filled with effervescence. That excitement carried over to Friday night’s football game where the Cats defeated the Brush Archs by a final score of 45 – 13.
