Fancher said, “I started purple Wednesdays soon after my first month teaching. I started it because I had a couple of purple shirts and ties that I didn’t wear enough.” He didn’t expect his simple idea of flaunting his favorite color to transform into such an exciting weekly ritual that has now spanned years.
