Due to the warm temperatures this week and inconsistent air conditioning in classrooms, principal Jeff Legan allowed staff to wear shorts. For the first time in years, juniors were also not invited to the Honors Assembly in the auditorium to avoid overheating that space.

Alex Hliatzos is a sophomore staff writer and photographer for the Paw Print.

He has gone to Mayfield since kindergarten. He has written about a variety of events and issues throughout the high school. In 8th grade, he won a Director’s Choice award for one of his stories in Power of the Pen. Writing has been something that he has enjoyed for nearly all his life.

Along with writing, he is also heavily involved in the music programs here. He is one of the pianists for the jazz band, the pianist for the Limited Edition show choir band, the accompanist for the concert choir and chorale, and he will be a pianist in the upcoming spring musical. He also enjoys writing and producing music.
