Kelsey Mize is a senior staff member on The Paw Print.

Her first experience with News Writing was last year when she had to take the class for a communications credit. To her surprise, she fell in love with the story-writing process! In particular, she loves talking with individuals and identifies herself as a "people person." She also loves hearing what people have to say and highlighting that through her work.

As for other writing classes she's taken, she's taking CCP classes at Lakeland Community College for English Composition 1 and 2 to receive college credit. Last year, she was the head poetry editor for MHS’ creative writing magazine, Voices Magazine. She hopes to major in the realms of journalism and communications with a possible minor in Italian Studies or International Studies/Political Science.

As for extracurricular activities, she's been playing softball for 14 years and is a 4-year varsity starter for the high school softball team. She also plays travel softball for the Lady Landsharks and hopes to play in college, preferably Denison University!

Her hobbies including listening to 1960s and 1970s music and being a movie buff. She also loves spending time with her friends and family and having hour-long conversations with them.

Her goals in life are to meet more people and create her own view on the world and her place in it, which is why she's so thrilled to be a part of this writing community.
